The Marabelle Pinot Grigio 2020 is made on the rugged slopes of the Majella National Park in Abruzzo Italy. The high elevation and closeness to the Adriatic Sea are key factors in making the wines from Terre di Chieti special. Fresh acidity for days, vines that average 40 years old and biodynamic practices contribute to the winning formula. The Marabelle wines that are available to us are all pretty darn good (Primitivo!) this Pinot Grigio caught our attention and imagination. The color is pinkish-orange and one could argue it’s a rosé, but close your eyes and you’re drinking a very fine white wine.  The fruit flavors are dense and the acidity is tingly and balanced. It’s about 80 degrees in Seattle today and this is the wine in the fridge.

Taste: The color is a beautiful pinkish-orange which is flavor suggestive and accurate in it’s suggestion. Youthful aromas and flavors of strawberries, oranges, lemons, with a dash of salty brine and citrus peel. A supremely attractive, healthy wine with a long finish that strikes a perfect balance. Nothing sticking out the sides. Lastly, this is seriously high value Pinot Grigio and could easily compete with other bottles that cost twice the amount.
