The Remelluri Lindes de Remelluri Vinedos de San Vicente 2011 is made from grapes grown in vineyards at the borders of the larger Remelluri property. Made by Telmo and Amaia Rodríguez, the San Vincente is a traditional blend of Rioja grape varieties, predominately Tempranillo and Garnacha. This wine is dedicated to the vinous expression of the wine village San Vincente de la Sonsierra. The grapes that go into the San Vincente come from 14 sustainably farmed hectares, worked by 11 winegrowers. These hectares represent a diverse variety of soils and orientations. Prior to bottling, the wine spends 12 months in barrel. The San Vincente is approachable in youth but also has shown greatness ten years on.

Tasting Note: Ten years on and this wine has loads of character and more years to go. The aromas and flavors are smoky and developed. Absolutely brimming with prunes, dates, strawberries, cherries, black pepper, dark chocolate, cedar, and citrus peel. It is full bodied, coming in at 14% alcohol, with fine, sandy tannins and medium+ acidity. The San Vincente has flavors of spicy dried fruits, some candied citrus peel and a whiff of cigar smoke. Long finish, high complexity, and will continue developing for another ten years. Incredible quality and value.
